Hi, I'm glad to see you're interested in this topic! Unfortunately, I'm not aware of an active discussion group dedicated to s-risks, but there are some communities and organizations listed here that might allow you to connect with like-minded people.
You might also find some like-minded people in this Facebook group, or other miscellaneous communities like the Sentient Futures Slack or the Non-humans and longtermism Discord. Organizations like the Center on Long-Term Risk or the Center for Reducing Suffering might be able to give you some advice too if you reach out.
Let me know if you decide to create a more niche community for this — I'd be interested! I do think that keeping discussions public on places like the forum is a good thing, where it makes sense.
Excited to hear this! I found Probably Good’s career advising to be uniquely thorough and tailored, which I really appreciated. I felt like there was a real effort on the part of my advisor to understand my values and priorities, and to meet me where I am.
And the resources that the advisor followed up with were fantastic, and highly tailored to me.
