Are you interested in learning how to achieve financial independence and make a difference in the world? Join us for the second event hosted by Rebecca Herbst of Yield & Spread, an EA-inspired nonprofit dedicated to helping you achieve both. In this session, we’ll explore the intersection of Financial Independence Retire Early (FIRE) and Giving.
You’ll discover the fundamentals of FI and learn how investing can help you build wealth and live the life you want. You’ll also gain valuable insights into giving now versus giving later, and how to balance your financial goals with your desire to make a positive impact on society. Plus, you’ll have the opportunity to explore the Y&S FI-lanthropy Calculator, a useful tool that helps you understand how taking a donation pledge can affect your FI timeline. This event is especially good for those either looking to take a pledge for the first time, or want to up their pledge amount.
The event is hosted by EA Anywhere - an online discussion space and a touchpoint for people without local EA groups nearby. If you want to get more involved, check out our events calendar, subscribe to the monthly newsletter, or join our Slack workspace.
Thank you to all those who RSVP'ed to the second part of our Finance for Good Series. Expect the workshop to be interactive, with some exercises and discussions as a group. We're providing an optional pre-event exercise called When Can I Retire?. It’s meant to help you get a better understanding of your financial snapshot -- both your net worth and your spending, and give you the opportunity to use your real financial data during the workshop. If you aren’t able to get to it, no worries, you can always explore during and after the event. See you all soon!
