Welcome to our Effective Animal Advocacy Meetup! Whether you're a newcomer or you've joined us before, let's get to know each other (better) and explore the most thought-provoking questions facing the animal advocacy world today.
This time we're excited to welcome Jonas from the International Council for Animal Welfare for a special Campaigns Lab: Stop Cutting Animals' Eyes Off! Shrimp are the most farmed animal on earth and science shows they feel pain, yet two of the cruellest practices in shrimp farming are still widespread: cutting off their eyes and suffocating them in ice slurry. Jonas will share how his team has already convinced four major UK supermarkets to commit to shrimp welfare this year and invite us to help launch the first such campaign in Germany. Together, we'll design a corporate pressure campaign that could spare over 100 million shrimps annually from some of their worst suffering.
