Welcome to our Effective Animal Advocacy Meetup! Whether you're a newcomer or you've joined us before, let's get to know each other (better) and explore the most thought-provoking questions facing the animal advocacy world today.
This month, Mark Westcombe, founder and director of Animal Think Tank, joins us for an interview on how to reach people beyond the vegan bubble. Mark has been an activist for 25+ years. At Animal Think Tank he works on legislative, legal and narrative strategies for animals in the UK, and helps build the UK movement's capacity to deliver them. Drawing on Animal Think Tank's UK public opinion research, Mark will discuss who advocates are really trying to reach, why labels like "flexitarian" may be misleading, which messages resonate with which people, and how we can build a bigger tent.
Schedule for the evening
- 19h00: Arrivals, networking and socialising
- 19h15: Brief intro for newcomers
- 19h30: Talk by Mark with Q&A
