Hello
I created this video attached below which I think makes a strong case that Human Polygenomic Editing or HPE is just as if not more important an existential crisis as many of the things the Effective Altruism group talk about. For instance, one of the benefits of having HPE integrated successfully into human society is that a standard deviation increase in population IQ leads to ten times the number of scientists equivalent to Nobel Prize winning scientists in capabilities. An example of it going horribly wrong, is that China is investing a lot more into HPE than we are in the West, in which case we get molested by an economy run by 1.4 billion Chinese with the capabilities of Elon Musk, and that becomes very bad for the West.
That is just one example, I have detailed in my video counter-arguments against this being equivalent to Eugenics, the idea that we are heading towards a GATTACA like society, the idea that IQ is meaningless, the idea that the genetic caste system is irrelevant, and many other common arguments against my stance.
What do you people think? If I'm right, then I have a message with regards to GGE that is not being taken with the seriousness it deserves, and I'm wondering what the next step for me is. Do you have any wisdom?
Cheers
Why is everyone so negative about this? Isn't this a philosophy forum? Aren't you supposed to give your reasons, rather than just hating and assuming it's bad without justification?
I'd like to point out that the people who hate on the animal rights movement supported by the EA peoples are also the sorts who think veganism is bad because they have immediate negative feelings towards it and then just assume its bad without justification. What exactly makes you any better?
