As a newcomer to EA, I see a lot of mention of earn to give, which is great, but I'm sure many are aware that the bank which one has their money in as well as the investments that one makes also have an impact on the world. For example, many major banks lend money to fossil fuel projects or firearm companies. Activist shareholders or early stage investors also can play a role in choosing how to vote their shares on different company-wide proposals (e.g. if your focus is AI, perhaps how Google shares are the most important to vote) or what startups to fund (I realize most aren't investing in startups, but for those who could). As a passive investor, one can also pick ETFs based on how they vote their shares.
