Question, for a new group what do you think the most high-impact output goals are?
My intuitions are things like:
- total events run
- group attendance
- members who do 80,000 career coaching,
- members that take giving pledge
- total dollars raised for high-impact charities
- Net promoter scores or some kind of trending high survey mechanism
What do you think? What am I missing? Is there any research I should know about when it comes to setting goals for maximizing group impact? TIA =)
Here are the quantitative goals we set for EA University of Bergen for the coming semester (our second active semester):
I am uncertain about which of these goals are the most important, but I presume that the goals related to influencing members to choose high-impact careers are the most valuable to aim for (e.g. making people apply for 80K coaching).

Thanks, Phillip! I'm looking forward to reading the article and appreciate learning from your experience in the Bergen group.
