This is a quick update that Non-Trivial is hiring a new CEO. The application deadline is August 31st, 2025, but we're conducting rolling interviews, so applying earlier means being considered sooner.

About Non-Trivial: Our mission is to build a global community of young people solving the world's most pressing problems. Since launching our first fellowship 2 years ago, we've received over 40,000 applications and our alumni have co-authored UN reports and published at NeurIPS. High-scoring applicants (top ~0.05%ile) grew by 3.5x since last year.

Why we're hiring: I'm transitioning to AI safety work while remaining as an active board member alongside Eirin Evjen and Jona Glade. Our previous funder Good Ventures will no longer fund high school programs, but new major funder Carina has committed to funding the majority of our budget through 2027 conditional on confidence in the new CEO.

What you'll do: As CEO, you'll lead all aspects of our work in dramatically expanding our impact to reach the world's most talented high schoolers. You’ll design and execute a strategy to 3x our impact in two years, select participants from thousands of exceptional applicants, and lead our communications reaching ~100k students on our newsletter. You'll manage our £600k annual budget, develop partnerships with top international competitions, and build the team and systems to scale our proven model and capitalize on our extraordinary momentum.

What we're looking for: Someone passionate about empowering exceptional young people to tackle the world's biggest challenges. You thrive on building high-performing communities and managing complex projects with multiple moving parts. You bring exceptional analytical rigor to strategic decisions under uncertainty, and you're relentlessly resourceful when obstacles arise. You enjoy teaching concepts like opportunity cost, counterfactual reasoning, and Fermi estimates. You work autonomously while maintaining high ethical standards, actively seek feedback, and excel at clear communication and relationship building. Experience leading teams or managing budgets >$250k is a bonus but not required.

Benefits: £75,000-£95,000 compensation, 25 days paid holiday, pension, £5,000 mental health allowance, £3,000 tech budget, flexible hours, and part-time options available.

Application process: Rolling interviews → 1-2 interviews with team/board → 4-hour work sample → multi-day work trial (preferably in-person in London).

If you have any questions, please email me at ceo-hiring@non-trivial.org. If you know anyone who'd be a good fit, I’d be grateful if you could let them know about this role.
