Agree with the broad take. I'd noticed this from my own slightly different pov: I have 5-6 years of advocacy/lobbying experience, strong network in relevant government departments, and want to pivot into AI safety... and I can't for the life of me find any roles to apply for! I've seen one or two in the past ~6-12 months of looking (UK based)
