Metaculus has several relevant forecasts, but they seem to contradict each other. Some example forecasts:
1. Will humans go extinct before 2100? 0.3% chance. (This is the Metaculus question with the most activity.) 2. Ragnarok question series: Implied 12.16% chance (community prediction) or 3.66% chance (Metaculus prediction)[3] of a >95% decline in population by 2100.
Currently, the community prediction in question 1 at 0.5%. The relevant Ragnarök questions are the following:
for a final probability of 3.5% that the human population will be reduced to 1/20th or less.
But these are different questions! It is not my view, but it's not contradicting to think that, conditional on the human population being reduced by 95% (to ~400 million with current numbers), completely wiping out every single human is only 14% likely.
