The Safe AI Forum (SAIF) is hiring an Events Associate to support the planning and delivery of high-impact events that advance international cooperation to reduce extreme AI risks.

About SAIF

SAIF is a US 501(c)3 dedicated to advancing international cooperation to reduce extreme AI risks. We specialise in international AI governance—fostering coordination, cooperation, and communication across non-state actors and governments in the most important AI jurisdictions.

Our flagship programme (the International Dialogue on AI Safety) brings together senior computer scientists and AI governance experts from multiple jurisdictions to collaborate on AI risk. We also run workshops, study tours, and other convenings.

About the role

We're looking for an events professional to take ownership of event logistics and operations as we scale our events programme. This is a high-leverage role where you'll work directly with our Head of Events to ensure SAIF's events are run to an excellent standard.

The role involves:

  • Supporting logistical planning and on-site operations for IDAIS and other SAIF events
  • Coordinating core event components, including venues, catering, AV, translation, ground transportation, and materials
  • Managing vendor relationships and negotiations
  • Ensuring world-class attendee experiences
  • Building scalable systems for event delivery

Who we're looking for

Strong candidates will likely have:

  • 2+ years of experience in event management or related field (or exceptional organisational skills and the ability to learn quickly)
  • Excellent attention to detail and strong organisational skills
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and prioritise effectively
  • Adaptable problem-solving mindset
  • Clear, professional communication skills
  • Willingness to travel internationally 4–8 times per year
  • Mission alignment and genuine interest in AI safety and international cooperation

Desirable but not essential:

  • Experience working internationally or on international events
  • Familiarity with the AI safety and governance ecosystem

Why join SAIF?

  • High impact: Your work will directly enable critical conversations and collaboration on international AI coordination
  • Variety: Work across different event formats—from international dialogues to workshops and study tours
  • Small, high-context team: You'll be part of a team of nine based across the UK and US
  • Impact-focused culture: We move quickly, balance rigour with speed, and take genuine ownership of outcomes

Other details

  • Location: Remote, with strong preference for UK, US East Coast, or Bay Area-based candidates
  • Salary: $68,750–$96,082 / £44,711–£62,485—benchmarked to US salaries and adjusted for proficiency and location
  • Start date: March/April 2026 (preferred)
  • Travel: Expected 4–8 times per year for events and team retreats
  • Application deadline: Apply by 11:59 PM local time on Saturday, 4 January 2026

How to apply

Please complete this application form by 11:59 PM local time on Saturday, 4 January 2026.

The application process will likely include written work and interview components, and potentially a work trial. We offer payment for work samples and trials, conditional on your location.
