Hello all! We would again like to invite women and non-binary people in EA to this month's meetup on 17 May 2023 in Berlin. Luz and Eugenia will be the facilitators this month.

We'll meet at Teamwork, Berlin's EA coworking space, (Instructions on how to get there).

Here's what we'll be doing:

19:00 Arrivals
19:10 Welcome and speed meetings
19:30 Discussion, networking, socializing
22:00 End

We'll start gathering at 7 pm, but feel free to join at any time and stay for as long as you like. There will be some snacks and drinks, but you're welcome to bring your own.

Please feel free to share this invite with other people who might be interested.

We hope you can make it and are looking forward to seeing you there!

Hello everyone! Due to the low number of sign-ups we’ve decided to skip this month’s women+non binary meetup. We hope you enjoy the wonderful Berlin spring, and for those at EAG London we wish you fruitful conversations! We’re looking forward to seeing you again in the next meetup of the series.

abrahamrowe·1d ago·2m read

On October 22nd starting at 10:00am Pacific Time, Every.org is matching donations to select animal welfare organizations at a 2:1 rate, up to $2,000 per donor per nonprofit (so if you give up to $2,000, they will contribute up to $4,000 and the nonprofit will get up to $6,000). The first donation a donor makes to each eligible nonprofit will be matched, and donors can get the match for multiple $2,000 donations. So, you can get more than $2,000 matched by donating $2,000 one time to multiple...

When speaking to candidates who are considering working with us at 80,000 Hours, I often hear people worry about replaceability. The familiar version of the worry is about whether the organisation will hire someone else in your place. If it will, then the difference you make by taking the job is only the difference between you and them. There are a couple of well-known answers to that. The person hired in your place probably cares about the world too, and would go on to do somethi...
