I’ve spent over a decade working in mental health at the NHS, and as a founder at Canopie through AIM’s Charity Entrepreneurship program. When I started exploring what to build next, I interviewed many people, and one thing that came up repeatedly as a driver for mental health strain was dating. Relatedly, strong relationships and social connection are one of the largest and best-replicated associations with health we know of (note). This is how I ended up starting Settled, a relationship company where we’re trying to improve the experience and outcomes of dating.
So far, we’ve set up 230+ dates, mostly between people from the EA and rationalist communities.
Hi Ula, thanks for this, would you be interested to do a chat so we could talk through some of your ideas in more detail/more efficiently? Please shoot me a quick message at [email protected] if so.
A couple quick thoughts and additions below:
Thank you! It's not from just our introductions. We always encourage people to date outside of Settled as well as going on our dates. We help them with profile feedback and coaching. Therefore it's the combination of the Settled dates + the intentionality in dating that we think gets us to this number!
