The problem with most economics is that it ignores the actual costs of producing a good. Example: Tires shed micro plastics that wash out into the ocean and kill huge amounts of sea life. If you factor that into the economics, then tires would cost $10,000 apiece. But since the ocean is treated as a 'free good', that massive cost to the environment is ignored.
Look at the heat waves in Europe this Summer. That is part of the high cost of global warming. Factor that in and you have a real detriment to the economy.
