Thanks for sharing your take on this, Tandena! The most explicit incidents I've found so far have been reports of AV collisions, but damage from support infrastructure is an interesting angle. I'm not sure how to go about evaluating what kind of impact is being seen from that, but I am crawling research papers, so perhaps waiting for an expert in that area to publish something is the right move for inclusion?
Great point about comparing to what it's replacing. I think it'll be interesting to try to make some comparisons for different types of events, for example with AV collisions, how might that compare to manually driven car collisions? One of the big difficulties in doing so is going to be finding some kind of reliable denominator for comparison.
Another interesting consideration in the rare species collectors. Again, not sure how I would go about finding the information about who is having those discussions with AI and how, but could be interesting to explore.
