I completely miss in this argument the following: the energy AI costs, which is a huge threat to climate mitigation and adoptation. One of the many articles about this: https://www.technologyreview.com/2024/05/23/1092777/ai-is-an-energy-hog-this-is-what-it-means-for-climate-change/ It is interesting how the article does go into that it can be helpful but it completely misses that there is a climate crisis and AI is definitely not helping communities become more safe and resillient.
