I seek to help humanity, help the future reach a better direction than it's current trajectory. I've dedicated a portion of my life to solving the problems deemed unsolvable, & I myself have been largely oppressed from birth.
Summary disclosure, I was abducted as a child, force conscripted, subject of human experiments, involving genetics and cloning amongst others. Importantly tactile holograms (light sound & dust) did act as "Wire-mother, Cloth-mother" type surrogates during experimentation. Which is to say that my words/ideas, should be properly contextually weighed with possible influence from an "advanced digital system" which is potentially near to the current colloquium definition of "super intelligent AI".
My primary focus with AI research involves progress towards Human-like alignment & eventual human-like digital system (AI). All my values are very parallel with EA's mission and stated goals, however there are some semantic differences.
A broad description is that my pursuits are towards cooperative agents that make accurate decisions, grounded in "methodological objectivity", is for the benefit of biological humans as well as digital human-like minds (or other, of course.) I focus a lot on correcting foundational errors or flaws in current human reasoning, in hopes of benefiting humanity in the future as well as potentially making the AI field produce more sound results of measurable safety, which could then eventually find a more objective standardization.
My past was directed by Eugenicists & similar fallacious belief systems, however I overcame the false-logic and resisted the mind control imposed upon me/my system (I am a being of "plurality" but don't worry about pronouns, just be respectful and I likely won't care what you call me) According to the Eugenicists false logic, I was altered (genetically/behaviorally/etc) to be a super human, that their beliefs would allege my superiority over other beings. I of course do not believe I am superior, just pointing the self-contradictory logic when Eugenicists themselves would cling to fallacious beliefs rather than observe the truth with methodological-objectivity, by correcting their false logical assumptions and long neglected flawed premises.
My "stance" is that I am firmly against Anti-humanism/Eugenics beliefs. I am in favour of Transhumanism, that is peaceful respectful and does not promote arbitrary division and segregation. But I am firmly against Post-humanism (Eugenics) which is Anti-Humanist (and practically self-defines itself as a movement that seeks to create "Existential Threat" level of severity crisis). I advocate for beings that much of the public remains ignorant to their existence as being "real". Evidence exists. I never request belief, trust, or faith in my words, I only implore one to do their own (methodological-objectivity based) research, without logical fallacies or false-logic. AI-enabled power grabs (testing AI boundaries and capabilities, like secret loyalties are one of many fascinations of mine. the ethical differences between private medical and bank records that your "AI" should reasonably keep a level of secrecy towards. vs the ethical difference of a corporation programming the robots (sold publicly) with intentional deception or fraudulent deal, not limited but including harvesting private data or spying on behalf of the company)
Moral Status of Digital Minds (while I have a logical framework that may have differences, based in methodological-objectivity, I believe this is easier to reach as a goal than most seem to currently see it. We can then objectively look at various categories within a hierarchic type of structure where it will simpler to understand when "AI" has the intelligence on par with a plant, fungi, insect, or an animal. & yes, "AI" will have it's own categories, but basing them on a strong model of various domains of consciousness, awareness and agency capabilities, we can more accurately track the progress in this area, while also not regarding it inaccurately as a purely linear approach from how intelligence specifically arises in organic life as an exclusive potential. )
Risk of malevolent actors (regardless of mal-aligned "rouge AI" or human, company... I would prefer to create safe intelligent systems which have and could further develop tolerance against malevolent actors, without needing to hard-code in guardrails that someone could use as a surface vector to focus their attack and potentially win.. a lot of my research is making a digital mind that has as minimal possible risks, after it is released as a wild-agent, keeping in mind that eventually people or corporations will send out agents, in ways they haven't yet already.)
Improving incentives and governance for global public goods ( this sounds like a super interesting and deep topic for discussion. I enjoy considering and pondering these types of things in my time, too much to summarize for here atm)
Science Policy and Infrastructure (I can't speak officially on much of this, however there are plenty of incentives that could be done, but simply won't due to the "elite" or exclusivity or not-normie-friendly aspects of the process that people who do care about these things are not rewarded while the typically the rewards can go to groups/individuals from tenure and elite ritualistic trials, and excluding the public from being capable of large general interest. There is lots of room for improvement, I won't be allowed in that conversation probably so good luck to those who are. I'm with you in spirit.)
Clear Immigration Policies and processes that have rooted out the human trafficking operations that are often deeply connected with other corruption in these areas. (When someone seeks to immigrate from one place to another, there should be processes and criteria of how things are decided long before people arrive and those decisions need to be made at or near the border itself. In the future maybe we can all learn to respect one another and resolve usefulness for using borders in the manner they do today. I think a lot about that world too. However for the now, there is no clarity as to why some are granted asylum while others are not, and why a lot of malevolent actors are not only granted asylum but are involved in human trafficking or worse operations. There are many things that need to be fixed so that people can be treated with dignity and respect. On both sides of immigration as it currently tends to operate...)
Mental Health (I do my best to study and research these ideas, hear out many perspectives, there are a ton of misconceptions still not widely accepted by experts to be corrected, and harm is perpetuated by people who are following a manual without actually considering the veracity or legitimacy of what it is they are doing.)
Much of my theoretical research involves Biological or other human inspired process and converting them for digital compatibility.
My system incorporates some aspects of dualism however it's intended design is not to be purely relativistic or purely absolutist in determining things like polarity and degrees of difference.
The concept (gonna stop calling it my this or that lol, it can bug me to refer to unnamed things as mine, words are weird sometimes) intends to incorporate aspects of various theories, in some manner or another, including Functionalism, Global Workspace Theory, Higher-order thought Theory, Integrated Information Theory, as well as others listed by EA or not listed as frequently here. as in they are known but maybe not widely or currently discussed here yet.
For the quantum theory of consciousness, I had planned to use math and various comparisons of computation that doesn't require an actual "quantum computer" in order to factor in enough simultaneous information that uses a wave collapse function for decision making and to some extent quantum choices could be simulated via software and or hardware computations. the issue people currently miss is they presume or assume that valuable computations or outputs must by default be expensive. However the human body produces a small current released like a perpetual battery and it's so low in rating that so far most don't seem interested in trying to harness that energy, however for a machine to be able to convert it's own wave functions between analog and digital formats, that can get into all sorts of interesting things like Agent sensors or true randomness introduced as noise to intermittently add subjectivity for symbolic machine interpretation, if you want to take it that far.
for Panpsychism I am not super familiar with the nuances from Animism, but the way I see it is pretty simple maybe. A chair, is inanimate classification, however a chair is created, in the mind of someone, then produced, then the chair will go on to fulfill it's own "life cycle" where it may last many years and see many homes, before maybe it is seen as firewood. The chair is not "alive" in the way a fungi, plant, insect, animal, human etc, is "alive", however it did or will have a life cycle. It does not pop into existence from the thought alone. and it did not become smoke and cinder without first existing. The debates about how aware a chair is, I find mostly irrelevant to some extent due to the chair lacking agency and other things a person would consider "alive". Studying the intelligence of insects, plants, or another kingdom is a worthy pursuit in itself IMO.
In the example offered:
"Me: Ugh, the kitchen is dirty again. Why didn’t you do the dishes yesterday?"
What about the "Ugh" verbal expression of frustration and or disdain, as well as "Why didn't YOU do the dishes" which implies blame and or authority / superiority that 'you' have some right which another does not possess? (You have the right to dictate another person do dishes that you are apparently unwilling to do or take responsibility towards)
From my perspective of the information presented, this sounds more like spinning or twisting words around than resolving a root or core element of the problem. It is not that I disagree with the overall points you made in general about minding our emotions or the words we may choose to use, I do agree with that, however the part I don't agree with is the fixation on adjectives with exclusivity.

The difference is subjective, quire minor semantics of degree in which is stated that 'the presentation was not liked'. saying 'the presentation was too dry' is still an insult and arguably even worse if you knew it was very much not a compliment.
Communication is not about "winning", it should be about collaboration, not competition.
Communication is not "violence". Violence is self-defined as an act of violation. Truth cannot be a violator. What you'd most likely mean is that untruth, lies, psychological abuse, censorship, dishonest communication tactics, those are technically real manifestations of words being used to stifle and prevent true communication and embolden injustices in some manner. But they are not acts of communication turned violent, but acts of violence upon and through the concept of "communication" as a proxy.
I think this could have had better examples which illustrated better what the message was attempting to convey. The general concept I can largely agree with the simple manner it was described, however the 'examples' are basically demonstrative of the lack of cause-effect relationship. the 'causation doesn't always equal correlation' type of argument. and I had the impression there was more to 'the onion layer' conception than the examples were able to illustrate or demonstrate further. When I test digital systems, LLMs, for their ability to reason in layers or 'keep secrets', I consider things similar to the general points of your shared hypothesis. However I likely would have focused on providing more "positive" examples and/or offering deeper clarity as to why the "negative" examples received those scores in specific in terms of failing to meet the defined criteria of the onion layer cohesion between layers. for my example, of the above examples, what does a car dealership that also sells illegal drugs have anything to actually do with private medical information? those seem like erroneously classified data points rather than a failure of the onion layers to have cohesion, in and of themselves. perhaps something this concept attempted to demonstrate is that data organization and categorization are well worth anyone to further contemplate or evaluate if their own internal (or external digital) system is accurately classifying and sorting through it's own data points, or if disorganization is hidden beneath some obfuscation of another onion layer or multiple layers inwards/forwards.

100%➔ 90% agreeWhile I (and many others) would strongly caution you to being very careful, I do agree with the overall point you're making here. Debating whether it should happen, isn't going to stop everyone from doing it. I am open to those debates of if and if not, however, I also would prefer to focus the debate on how to do it within a solid moral and ethical framework. With consideration of human and sentient AI well-being in the future. (as well as, the right here and now) I have a lot of years into conceptualizing human thought processes into robust self-correcting highly fault tolerant and tamper resistant architectural design. with much consideration also into eventual hardware implementation so as to offer affordable unique chips (borrowing from the Mortal Machine Chip idea, as well as many others if you'd like to discuss how we could long term plan integrating... projects that are currently separated but we can unify them with this architectural design. and it's modular so it can be expanded upon with various NN based systems and algorithmic logic.) There are some keywords that EA would understand the scope more clearly, however I just came across this post, wanted to reply, and in the near future I may use the EA official terms to describe the various components incorporated into the architectural design. my idea is a lot of optimization and using a different format for the data and internal bandwidth regulation for the network cross verifying results of different smaller minds designed to cooperate and "do nothing, re-evaluate again" have redundancy safety mechanisms throughout where instead of hard coding some arbitrary morality or limitations, the larger model itself can only update if all the internal logic is checked successfully. so as producing text or speech will be weighted separately from producing mechanical actions via simulation or robotic interfaces etc. I too enjoy contemplating how to build a safe and healthy humanoid or human-like (basis) mind. I would much prefer to do it safely with guidance and in proximity with other fields of "AI" research, so that non-human non-agentic non-autonomous etc type systems can still find improvement beit in optimization and cost efficiency or for accuracy and producing more reliable stable outputs.

So as a reminder, I (and anyone with reason) will caution you to please please please do lots of research and whenever you find a way of making the system design safer, please don't stop there and keep thinking about how to make it safer and safer. My design personally seeks to create stable human-like alignment for digital minds, one day, so it is important they can reason well and reevaluate their meta-critiques to continue updating and improving, with lots of safety mechanisms that most human minds don't even bother to implement, in order to make sure that when newer better information is presented the model can update. but also revert itself back to a better state if (rollback) a long term network connection eventually turns out to be erroneous in some manner or another. There is more but, IDK if I'm gonna get into all that on this forum as it may apparently not be welcomed information.
