Thanks for that. Can't say I had any great delusions about quality (nor a desire to claim it authentically mine). That someone should be so eager to knock something down that hadn't even 'stood up', and clearly wasn't about to rise up to levels many were likely to have ever seen it anyway, just felt somehow... personal, I guess. Which is ridiculous since I don't know anyone here. Suppose maybe I don't want to either, though you seem alright. 

As a new member who joined all of about a week ago (having previously just browsed the site), must admit the karma experience so far leaves me feeling rather attacked and not sure what to make of it. Figured I'd take the plunge and post something by means of an introduction ofsorts. Didn't expect much of it, was quite relieved when that first post was eventually approved about 3 days after I posted it, and added another. 1  upvote on the original and a few more on the second seemed a pleasant enough 'welcome' with which I'd at least earned a few karma points. Til I checked in again to note both had been voted down the first by quite a bit, now leaving me with a negative karma score, no idea who was so strongly opposed to what I posted, and not a single comment/ indication of what was considered so particularly deplorable as to warrant such concerted effort to ensure I will never rise up to more 'socially acceptable' ranks. Cliquey much around here? Does feel eerily like the very worst parts of high school I vaguely recall from a couple of decades ago.
