A bit late to the party here, but I really appreciated this post. This has provided me the motivation I need to take both my learning and writing to the next level. I often struggle with reading a whole bunch of stuff and realizing that I took nothing away from that. The intentionality of the steps outlined here resonated with me and I will report back after trying them out.
