Why join the Events team?
The CEA Events team creates high-quality discussion spaces that connect, inform, and inspire people in ways that help them have a greater positive impact on the world. We're expanding three of our key programs:
- EAGx—organizing conferences around the world for those familiar with EA concepts to build their networks and find high-impact opportunities.
- AI Special Events—facilitating events that connect key decision-makers, researchers, and funders to accelerate progress on addressing risks from advanced AI.
- Meta Special Events—developing events focused on nurturing and strengthening the EA community.
Our events have facilitated valuable connections, project launches, research collaborations, and funding relationships. For example:
- EAGx events have helped attendees find high-impact work, secure significant donations, and build connections that advance their careers and impact. In the 2024 EA Survey, 12% of respondents reported EAGx as an important factor for their involvement in EA. 19.2% cited EAGx as a source of interesting and valuable new personal connections.
- Our annual Summit on Existential Security event has facilitated lots of valuable outcomes, including new projects, research collaborations, and improved strategic coordination in the AI risk landscape.
- The Meta Coordination Forum has played an important role in helping leaders of EA organizations coordinate and collaborate effectively. You can read about the outcomes from the 2024 event here.
We have ambitious plans to expand our impact in 2025 and beyond, and we need your help to make that happen. We're hiring one leader for each of these program areas to help us scale while keeping quality high.
Who are we looking for?
We're looking for strategic leaders who share our values and can help us build these programs. Our ideal candidate would have:
- Strong strategic thinking with the ability to set a clear vision and develop actionable plans
- Experience managing teams or complex projects effectively

- Excellent relationship-building and stakeholder management skills
- A collaborative and supportive mindset, with strong communication skills
- A growth-oriented attitude and commitment to continuous improvement
