We're hiring Program Officers and Senior Program Officers to join GiveWell's research team—helping direct funding to global health and development programs we believe will do the most good.
As a Program Officer, you will:
Own complex grant investigations end-to-end
Manage a portfolio of active grants within one of our grantmaking areas
Carry out evidence review and build cost-effectiveness models, bringing together literature, grantee engagement, expert input, and independent analysis
Develop and communicate a point of view on the highest-impact opportunities in your domain
Build relationships with grantees, external experts, and other funders, and represent GiveWell at conferences and events
As a Senior Program Officer, you will:
Formulate and test hypotheses about the most promising investments in your grantmaking area
Build and lead a grantmaking portfolio
Carry out evidence review and build cost-effectiveness models, maintaining high standards for rigor across the portfolio
Lead GiveWell's external engagement in your area
Manage and develop a small team of researchers conducting world-class research
We're seeking candidates with ~7+ years of professional experience for our Program Officer role and ~10+ years for our Senior Program Officer role.
Details:
Location: Both roles are remote-friendly (US + international, case-by-case)
Salary:
Program Officer: $200,000-$220,000 (location-based; international custom)
Senior Program Officer: $280,000-$308,000 (location-based; international custom)
