You have probably heard how disastrous the Save Our Bacon Act (SOB) would be if passed in this year's Farm Bill. If not, you should read this:
Now groups are mobilizing ordinary people to oppose this legislation. With a lobby training planned for July 8 at 5PT/8ET, even first time lobbyists can be added to a team to for a virtual meeting with your Senators' staff.
While the SOB language has only been included in the House version of the Farm Bill (the Senate excluded this provision), there are still multiple ways SOB could become law if the Farm Bill passes. This is an all-hands-on-deck moment!
Farm Bill Lobby Training: Harnessing the Power of Grassroots Activism
Wed July 8 - 5PT / 8ET
If you cannot attend the training, register anyways to receive the recording. See the registration page for more information on what to expect at the training.
This training is the product of over a dozen organizations coming together to put on this webinar and mobilize grassroots voices in what I believe is an unprecedented lobbying push.
The Humane League, Pro-Animal Future, Compassionate Action for Animals, Voters for Animal Rights, Chilis on Wheels, Vegan Activist Alliance, Jewish Vegan Life, New Roots Institute, Kirkpatrick Policy Group, Attorneys for Animals, Mercy for Animals, Farm Sanctuary, Compassion in World Farming, NC Animal Advocates United, DC Voters for Animals
Do you have other actions people can take for SOB? Please share them in the comments.
PS - If you are able to join me at Humane World for Animals' Taking Action for Animals conference from July 31-August 3, attendees will go to Capitol Hill to lobby in-person against SOB.
