EAGxOxford 2026: applications open (FAQ inside: cost, eligibility, time off, and more)

Applications for EAGxOxford are open and close on 13 September. The conference runs 25 to 27 September at the Examination Schools in central Oxford. 

What is an EAGx?

EAGx conferences (like EAGxOxford) are regional, community-run events for those working in or exploring high impact careers, across cause areas like global health, animal welfare, AI safety, and biosecurity. Rather than traditional conferences, at EAGxs it’s easy to book in 1-1 meetings with any attendee, so on average people have a dozen of these meetings alongside a full schedule of talks, workshops and meetups. 

What do people actually get out of it?

Most people say that most of the value comes from these 1-1 meetings. Many attendees use these meetings to get direct feedback on their plans, and to find funders, collaborators, mentors or future hires. 

Who is eligible?

Anyone who is thinking seriously about how they can have a high impact career is encouraged to apply. While the conference focuses mainly on attendees from the UK and Ireland, we’d be excited about applications from nearby and underserved countries such as Portugal, Spain, France and Belgium. 

Will I need to take time off work?

No, it runs Friday afternoon (3pm) through Sunday, and you can drop in and out. 

How much does it cost?

There are different options depending on your financial means, however we suggest a donation of at least £95 for most attendees, and £30 for students or those facing financial hardship, though we encourage you not to donate if you don’t feel able. 

Is travel support available?

Limited travel support is available for UK & Ireland attendees. Requesting it doesn't affect your chances of being accepted; details are in the application.
