Hi everyone,
I’m currently working on a research project exploring why and how people change their philosophical views about consciousness, and we’re looking for participants! Our aim is to identify which factors might contribute toward perspective shifts on this topic, such as reasoned arguments, novel experiences, or interfacing with new technologies.
Who are we looking for?
The key criterion is that you must have changed your mind, moving from one specific viewpoint to another. For example, perhaps you were once a machine functionalist but became convinced by Integrated Information Theory, or a variant of type-physicalism - or vice versa. This study is not for individuals who went from not having a view to forming their first clear opinion; we are specifically interested in the process of belief revision.
What's involved?
Participation involves a single, semi-structured interview conducted remotely, lasting approximately 60-75 minutes. Participation is voluntary and all data will be anonymized by default.
How can I participate?
If this sounds like you and you'd like to contribute, please sign up using this form.
Thanks for your time and consideration. I'm happy to answer any questions in the comments below.
