At @JoA🔸's suggestion, I want to share this 27k word post meant to introduce animal advocates to the prospect of short AGI timelines and enable them to start thinking on their own about what that would mean for animal advocacy. For anyone already engaging with AI<>Animals, I don't expect this post to offer much; it's less adding to the conversation than trying to get more people involved. But if you come across animal advocates who are currently not thinking about AI at all, or are vaguely anxious about it but don't know where to start, this could be a good resource to share with them. I basically decided to write it after having the same conversations with people over and over.
