I am Co-President of Volt Poland, part of Volt Europa — the first pan-European political party, active in 33 countries, with more than 40,000 members and supporters, five Members of the European Parliament, and over 400 elected representatives across Europe.

I see building Volt as my main long-term project for creating positive impact. The basic case is:

• Politics is highly leveraged. Better political institutions can influence budgets, laws and priorities at a scale unavailable to most individual projects.
• The largest challenges cross borders. Climate change, security, emerging technologies, migration and pandemic preparedness cannot be solved effectively by national politics alone.
• Volt has a structural advantage. Unlike alliances of national parties, it is one organisation whose members cooperate, learn and develop policy across countries.
• It can widen the circle of concern. Transnational politics makes it easier to consider people beyond one electorate, as well as future generations and other poorly represented groups.
• Institution-building compounds. Teams, expertise, leadership, networks and electoral credibility created today can produce impact across many issues for decades.

I therefore see Volt as a potentially high-leverage and unusually neglected institution-building project.

I also genuinely love learning.
