The satire topic is for posts that use irony, exaggeration, or parody to criticize or make a point about ideas, people, organizations, or practices, often within effective altruism itself.
Satire is a kind of humor, but not all humor is satire. Use this topic when the joke is doing argumentative work, for example taking a line of reasoning to an absurd extreme to show where it goes wrong. For posts that are mainly playful, use humor instead. Satirical posts can carry both this topic and humor, and those published on April 1st can also carry April Fools’ Day.
