Background for the role
Europe's AI governance field is still thin relative to the scale of the problem. Too few organisations and people are actively working to strengthen Europe's role in global AI governance. To help address this, Talos is piloting an Incubation programme that will take people with the agency to build and the conviction to tackle hard problems, and give them the support, network and funding to found the initiatives the field currently lacks.
We're currently testing an MVP through the Talos Fellowship's Incubation Track. Our aim is to learn from this and launch a standalone intensive cohort in February 2027 that will support incubatees to scope, test and launch new European AI governance initiatives.
Who we are looking for
We're looking for a driven, talented executor to take it from pilot to fully-fledged programme. As Incubator Programme Lead, you'll take ownership of a programme in its formative phase and actively shape what it becomes. Much of the first year will be spent defining the shape of the programme and iterating based on live engagement and feedback, with real participants and funding at stake.
You might be a good fit if you have built something from nothing before – founded an organisation, launched a programme, started a venture – and tend to make things happen with little direction. You'll need a high tolerance for ambiguity, sound judgement about early-stage ideas and founders, and enthusiasm for multiplying other people's impact.
This role has the potential to multiply how fast the field iterates. You'll be critical to making this programme go well - and if it does, a meaningful share of the European frontier AI governance initiatives that exist in the next three years will exist because of your work.
