High Impact Professionals is hiring: four remote roles (apply by November 1)

High Impact Professionals (HIP) supports experienced professionals to increase their impact through career transitions and effective giving. We're hiring for four roles, and this post explains what they are, why we're hiring now, and how to apply.

Summary

Four fully remote roles: Chief of Staff / Managing Director, Director of Operations, Program Launch Lead / Director, and Recruitment Manager. Two of them are open at two levels.
Applications close Sunday, November 1. We aim to make offers by mid-December, with a start ideally by February 2027.
Salaries range from $60,000 to $140,000 USD, depending on the role and level. All roles are ideally full-time, with part-time considered for outstanding applicants.
Why now: demand for our programs is well ahead of our capacity. Around 3,300 professionals applied to our Impact Accelerator Program (IAP) this year and we accepted around 10%. We plan to grow from 5 to around 14 people over the next two years and support hundreds of career transitions a year.

Why we're hiring now

Organisations working on the world's most pressing problems are getting new funding, and many tell us that finding a great, experienced hire is one of their main bottlenecks. At the same time, far more experienced professionals want to move into high-impact work than we can currently support.

We've helped more than 140 professionals make career changes to high-impact roles through HIP, at organisations like GiveWell, Epoch AI, and Shrimp Welfare Project, and we estimate more than $5 million in counterfactual impact (method and caveats in our 2025 Report). Our Impact Accelerator Program has grown from 19 participants in 2023 to around 350 in 2026. Until this year we did all of this with a team of 1.6 FTE, supported by alumni facilitators and an increasingly automated operations stack.

Since 2025 the team has grown from 2 to 5 people. Over the next two years we plan to run twice as many IAP rounds with twice as many participants in each, launch new programs, and grow to around 14 people. These four roles build the operations, programs, selection capacity, and leadership that our growth needs.

The four roles

Chief of Staff / Managing Director

Help scale HIP's team and impact, delivering our top priorities as Chief of Staff or running HIP internally as Managing Director.

As Chief of Staff, you'd work closely with our Executive Director and take high-priority projects from brief to done: a large part of a hiring round, HIP's presence at a conference, an analysis to inform a decision.
As Managing Director, you'd join our leadership team and run HIP internally day to day: our culture and internal systems as we grow, the formalisation of our board, and our main hiring rounds, while our Executive Director focuses on partnerships and scaling our impact.
Salary: Chief of Staff: $60,000 to $80,000 USD (up to $90,000 for outstanding candidates). Managing Director: up to $140,000 USD. Managing Director finalists will do a paid work trial of about two days.

Director of Operations

Build the systems and processes that enable HIP's growth, starting by setting us up as an independent nonprofit.

You'd own HIP's operations end to end (finance, legal and compliance, and people operations) and lead our move from fiscal sponsorship to our own 501(c)(3), planned for mid-2027.
You'd join our leadership team, working closely with our Executive Director.
Salary: $80,000 to $100,000 USD (up to $120,000 for outstanding candidates).

Program Launch Lead / Director

Create new routes into high-impact work. The first could be a self-guided program open to anyone.

As Program Launch Lead, you'd build and run the first rounds of a two-hour introductory course and a much more scalable careers program, then hand them over to our programs team once they work.
As Program Launch Director, you'd join our leadership team, research what professionals considering a high-impact career change need, test for product-market fit, and decide what HIP builds first.
Salary: Lead: $60,000 to $80,000 USD (up to $90,000 for outstanding candidates). Director: $80,000 to $100,000 USD (up to $120,000 for outstanding candidates).

Recruitment Manager

Choose who joins our Impact Accelerator Program, the step that currently limits how many people we can help.

You'd lead IAP selection, using data from 10 past application rounds to learn which signals predict career changes and to keep the process short for applicants without losing decision quality.
You'd also run parts of HIP's own hiring rounds.
Salary: $60,000 to $80,000 USD (up to $90,000 for outstanding candidates).

What we offer and how we hire

Fully remote, ideally with at least 2 hours of overlap with UK working hours (Chief of Staff / Managing Director, Director of Operations) or central European working hours (Program Launch Lead / Director, Recruitment Manager), plus 3 to 5 in-person conferences or co-working sessions a year.
Ideally full-time, with part-time considered for outstanding applicants. 30 days' vacation and a $1,000 tech stipend.
Process: an application by Sunday, November 1 (we reply within two weeks of the deadline), a test task of about 3 hours, then one or two video interviews and reference checks.
