If you have something to share that doesn't feel like a full post, add it here!
(You can also create a Shortform post.)
If you're new to the EA Forum, consider using this thread to introduce yourself!
You could talk about how you found effective altruism, what causes you work on and care about, or personal details that aren't EA-related at all.
(You can also put this info into your Forum bio.)
If you're new to effective altruism, consider checking out the Motivation Series (a collection of classic articles on EA). You can also learn more about how the Forum works on this page.
Hello everyone, this post is yet another introduction.
My name is Rasmus, and I am one of the co-founders of Effective Altruism Denmark.
I have been involved in EA for quite some time now, I just somehow never got around to being very active in the forum. However, as I will be defending my thesis in 6 days from now I thought now would be as good a time as any to start.
Right now, one of the things I care about is trying to raise the donation norm in Denmark. As such, we are trying to copy the success of Effective Altruism Norway, by trying to raise funds for GiveWell recommended charities by promoting their ideas and research to a Danish audience.
In the meantime, and to keep myself accountable, I am documenting our progress detailing every decision as well as mistake we make. Hopefully, at some point, I will have time to write about our learnings here in the forums.
Hi Aaron,
Thanks so much for sharing - that looks super useful for what we are about to do!
I think what we would ideally like to do is form a strategy based on current evidence, use that as our baseline and then perform split-testing to improve from there. I will for sure be giving your thesis a more thorough read in the coming weeks. If we find any ways to improve, you can be certain it will warrant some kind of post here :-)
Thanks!
